Imphal, July 24 2013: A hand grenade was found planted in front of the gate of Little Master English Hr Sec School, Samurou under Wangoi PS last night around 9 .
Speaking to reporters, the founder of the school, Moirangmayum Thoiba said he received threats through SMS and call from unknown number through his mobile phone last night around 8.30.He was informed that a bomb was planted in the school premises.
The bomb was retrieved after the information was passed to the police, he said.
Pointing out that a certain UG group had demanded Rs 5 lakh from the school authority on May 31, the founder also said students and teachers of the school had taken out a rally against the demand on June 1 .
Meanwhile, the staff and students of the school staged a sit in protest against monetary demand today inside the school premises.
