Imphal, July 22 2013: Restoring the depressed portion near Kohima along Imphal-Dimapur highway would take at least one week, said All Manipur Road Transport Drivers and Motor Workers Union secretary organisation M Anil Meitei quoting BRO sources.
The highway repairing work is also impeded by the heavy volume of vehicular traffic passing through the section.
Nonetheless, BRO has been working hard to repair the sunk portion using all the available machinery and manpower.
As a result, the section is now fit enough for passenger vehicles and empty trucks, Anil said.
Anil went to different parts of Nagaland a few days back extending material assistance including medicines to stranded transporters.
The highway section sunk near Heritage village, Kohima in the intervening night of July 12 and 13 .
