Imphal, July 24 2013: Police today dispersed a sit-in-protest staged at Manipur Mahal, Mantripukhri against State Government’s move to acquire land for the construction of a branch building of Reserve of India (RBI) .
However, the protesters continued their stir at the community hall of Matripukhri Bazar.
While demanding that the Government revoke the decision to acquire land at Mantripukhri, the protestors also demanded that all the 70 persons arrested on July 22 be released without any condition.
They also decried police for dispersing the ‘peaceful’ sit-in-protest.
