Imphal, July 20 2013 : Suspected rebels, for the second time in less than a year, triggered a hand grenade explosion at a hard-ware shop in the heart of Imphal injuring two non-locals this morning.

Though the motive behind the attack is yet to be ascertained immediately, police said it might linked with mo-netary demand slapped by rebel organization, an unwanted trend insurgency-hit Manipur has witnessed since the last one decade.

Victims Md Bolan Hus-sein (36) from Silchar and Luxmi Sahani from Bihar were inside the shop when the rebels exploded the grenade around 11.10 am, eyewitnesses said adding that the two were rushed to a nearby hospital.

While Bolan is a head mason engaged in the construc- tion of a building near the spot, Luxmi is a salesman of the shop, local sources said adding that they were discharged from hospital after administering first aid.

The same shop came under grenade attack last year.
