Imphal, July 22 2013: A suspected cadre of UTLA sustained injury in a factional clash that broke out at Vangai Chongpao in Tamenglong district this morning.
This incident comes barely a week after 45 cadres of UTLA surrendered to the Government with arms.
A highly reliable source said around 9 cadres of UTLA moved from Chu-rachandpur district to Vangai Chongpao in Tamenglong district after the surrender of 45 cadres of the outfit recently.
They came to extort money from various companies engaged in Jiri-Tupul rail line construction including the BRTF.
Misunderstanding cropped up among them which resulted in a clash leading to the injury of one cadre, the source said.
The injured has been reportedly admitted to Silchar Medical College.
