Imphal, July 25 2013: Even though high security registration plate (HSRP) system was formally launched more than a year back, a permanent HSRP fixing station has been inaugurated at the Moirangkhom complex of MSRTC.
Inauguration of the HSRP fixing station was held today with Director (Transport) M Luikham and District Transport Officer, Imphal West as the chief guest and guest of honour respectively.
speaking at the function organised by Transport Department M Luikham said the office inauguration is in compliance with the supreme Court directive making it mandatory for all States and union territories to apply HSRP.
Noting frequent reports about vehicle theft and exploding bombs fixed in vehicles, he said HSRP would be able to check both unwanted incidents if all the vehicle owners conform to HSRP norms.
DIPR director W Rajen was also present at the occasion.
