Imphal, July 22 2013: A daily wage earner hailing from Mayang Imphal Kokchai Mamang Leikai was found dead near an oil pump at Chingmeirong under Lamphel police station around 6.30 this morning.
38-year-old Leishangthem Sanjoy son of late Ibocha stayed at Mantripukhri in a rented room alone.
He bore an injury mark on his head.
In the meantime, Lamphel police station has picked up three persons for questioning in connection with the incident.
According to Sanjoy’s wife Ibethoi, her husband told her over the phone last night that he had got his wage but lost his mobile phone in a scuffle with some of his friends.
He made the call from an unknown number.
When she enquired later about her husband to the same number, a man identified himself as one Sobha picked up the phone and told her that Sanjoy had left the place.
The body has been handed over to his family after conducting autopsy at RIMS mortuary.
The deceased is survived by his wife, a daughter and a son.
