Imphal, July 25 2013: A powerful bomb was exploded by unidentified miscreants at the new residence of Deputy Director (Soil Chemist), Agriculture Department, Pheiroijam Rajendro (58) located at Porompat today.
Police said the bomb exploded in the courtyard of Rajendro this morning around 7.30 .
No casualty has been reported.
However, a Maruti Zen car and a Dio scooter parked in the courtyard were partly damaged by the blast besides ripping the wall and window panes of the house.
Police suspected that the explosive might have been fitted in a can.
Meanwhile, denouncing the bomb attack, womenfolk of the locality staged a sit in protest near JNIMS Hospital gate today.
No individual or group has claimed responsibility for the blast so far.
