Imphal, July 24 2013: One day farmers training cum awareness campaign was organised by District Agriculture Officer Ukhrul at Phungyar Block under Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana today.
According to a press statement issued by EO Office of the DAO Ukhrul, resource person of the training programme Ajit Kumar Singh, SMS Plant Protection and Hopeson Jajo, EO Agri spoke about jhuming cultivation and plant protection.
N Suresh Chandra Singh, SMS Fishery KVK Ukhrul spoke about fish farming.
The training program was attended by more than 50 farmers from different places along with village authority and SHG, it stated.
In a separate press note of DAO Ukhrul, the District Agriculture Office Ukhrul has conducted one day training cum awareness campaign on SRI, method of rice cultivation and adoption of new technology for use of HYV and hybrid paddy and jhum paddy protection from blast and leaf blight etc at phungyar Sub-division HQ yesterday.
It stated that 50 farmers participated in the campaign, with scientist from KVK Ukhrul and Extension Officers of DAO Ukhrul as its resource persons.
