Khangsim village

Imphal, July 19 2013 : The Khangsim Village Authority has alleged that some people armed with lethal weapons created panic among Khangsim villagers last night.

The attackers, who came in many vehicles, used threatening words like ‘Women and children will not be spared,’ said a statement issued by Khangsim VA today.

Panic striken villagers took shelter inside the Church.

Sounds of gun-shots were heard before and after the security forces came the situation was put under control, the statement said.

Villagers returned to their homes only after the SDPO of Thoubal, Lalboi went to the Church and informed the villagers that the situation was under control, according to the statement.

Wondering why the village was terrorised in such a manner, the VA statement urged the concerned to clarify the matter.

It also clarified that there is no enmity between Sora and Khangsim villagers to such an extend that could cause public fear.
