Heart camp

Imphal, June 17 2013: A five-day long heart camp organised by Sky Hospital and Research Centre in association with Manipur Heart Foundation at the hospital concluded today.


Altogether 250 heart patients including 35 children between one to 10 years were examined and treated at the camp.


Of the 35 children treated at the camp, 18 have holes in their hearts since birth.


Of the remaining patients, 32 have problems in heart valves.


Apart from checking pace-makers, ECG test was also done for patients requiring the same test free of cost.


Talking about the camp, Heart Specialist Dr L Shyamkishore said that they were happy to provide heart patients facilities for examination and treatment of their heart problems free of cost.


Treatment facilities for heart block, artificial heart valves, heart valve diseases, holes in heart, coronary artery diseases etc were provided at the camp.


Even though 200 patients were expected at the camp, 250 people came to it.


Dr Rajkumar, consultant Cardiologist of Escort Fortis Heart Institute, New Delhi also participated in the camp.
