Board fetes HSLC 2013 toppers

Imphal, June 15 2013 : Toppers of HSLC Exam 2013 conducted by Board of Secondary Education Manipur (BSEM) and other students who gave outstanding performance at the same exam were felicitated today at JN Dance Academy here.


It was the 41st prize distribution ceremony of BSEM.


Apart from awarding prizes to the top ten rank holders, Elementary Manipuri Award, State Government Award on Science Popularisation and 23 other awards donated by different trusts and private individuals were distributed today.


The prize distribution ceremony was graced by Education Minister M Okendro, BSEM Chairman P Dhanakumar and Education (S) Director H Deleep as guest of honour.


HSLC Exam 2013 topper Miranda Mongbijam of Nirmalabas High School was awarded one tola of gold and a citation.


Second position holder Keisham Lakshmirani of Little Flower School was conferred a silver medal, cash prize of Rs 10,000 and a citation while third ranked Ratimanjuri Hazarimayum of Nirmalabas School got Rs 8000 along with a citation.

Students who secured the next seven positions (4th to 10th) were felicitated with cash prize of Rs 5000 and a citation each.


The Elementary Manipuri Award was given to Somiror Marchang of Tiny Tots Unique School.


The award carries silver medal, citation and Rs 5000 in cash.


The State Award on Science Popularisation was shared by 52 students who scored 100 out of 100 in Mathematics.


The Kavi Khwairakpam Chaoba and Priyamala Memorial Award was conferred to Thangjam Rocket Singh who scored 95 marks out of 100 in Manipuri.


The award carries a cash prize of Rs 5000 and citation.


The Paite Literature Society Award comprising of Rs 5000 and a citation was conferred to Th Thangsamilian of Don Bosco School, Churachandpur.


The Nilakumar Memorial Award was given to Naorem Ibecha Devi of Ideal Blind School, Takyelpat.


The blind student scored 264 marks in aggregate.


The award carries Rs 5000 in cash and a citation.


The Arambam Ibungotomcha Award, given to highest mark scorer among Government school students, was conferred to Nongthombam Khagemba of Lamdeng High School.
