Imphal, June 07, 2013: The 60th foundation day of Manipur Hindi Parishad, Imphal was observed this afternoon at its own premises.
Manipur Hindi Parishad president Anoubam Binodchandra presided the function during which Ngangom Gopal of Kangmong was conferred the Mahip Hindi Seva Sanman for outstanding efforts of teaching and popularising Hindi in the State.
Manipur Hindi Parishad honoured Ngangom Gopal by presenting a shawl and a citation.
Prof Ibohal Kangjam of Hindi Department, Manipur University gave detail account of the genesis of Manipur Hindi Parishad and its present condition.
Hindi Teachers Training College Principal (retd( Dr T Kunjakishore presented a narrative of his experiences of teaching and propagating Hindi in Manipur.
The function culminated with presidential speech given by Manipur Hindi Parishad vice-president Ramnath Prasad.
