Imphal, June 10 2013: With regard to the PIB (DW)’s claim of two UNLF cadres surrendering to them, the outfit has clarified that one of the two who allegedly surrender to the Indian military’s Red Shield Division was a deserter while the other had snapped all connections with the party.
According to a press release issued by the outfit’s department of publicity, Pvt Moirangthem Jon alias Akongjamba was given leave and sent home after he was infected by Hepatitis C.Since then, he had snapped all connections with the party.
Cpl Ningthoujam Abung alias Sunder alias Lainingba fled away from his station in 2009 .
Arms and ammunition brought along by the duo at the time of their alleged surrender have nothing to do with UNLF/MPA.
The outfit called upon all deserters as well as those retired from revolutionary due to health conditions to be always wary of the Indian military’s alleged surrender drama.
