Imphal, July 15 2013: A meeting of the Joint Monitoring Group (JMG) was held today with representatives of UPF, one of the two conglomerates of Kuki armed groups under tripartite SoO pact, and the meeting agreed to hold JMG meetings every month.
The meeting held at 1st MR banquet hall was presided by Principal Secretary (Home) J Suresh Babu.
The meeting was attended by high-ranking officials of police, AR, BSF, Army and CRPF.
UPF representatives tabled three proposals for timely stipends to their cadres, verification of all the cadres and holding JMG meetings every months.
All the three proposals were accepted by the Government.
Further, the Government agreed to sanction necessary fund for completion of the ZRA’s designated camp being constructed at Phaibatong.
