Drug awareness camp

Imphal, June 11 2013: A community awareness programme on ‘prevention of drug abuse and illicit trafficking’, organised by anti-drug campaigners AMADA in collaboration with Indo-Burma Road Sports Association, was held today at the latter’s Yumjao Lairembi Lampak office premises.


As chief guest of the event, AMADA president Padamini Leima said that today’s awareness programme is a continuation of the anti-drug body to save the future generation from the harmful impact of drug/substance abuse.


Informing that over 80 such programmes have been conducted in different places in the last few months, she desired that the individual as well as women organisations take pro-active role in instilling sense of responsibility to the younger generation so that manipuri society could be saved from destruction.


As a resource person, Director (Law & Prosecution) Ng Tejkumar deliberated on ‘drug and domestic violence’ .
