Imphal, July 18 2013: Three fingers of a woman were severed when her husband hacked her at Salungpham Kangyambem Mathak Leikai, Thoubal district last night.
Maibam Tolenkhomba (37) hacked his wife Sapam (N) Maibam (O) Thoithoi (43) when at the latter was sitting at the verandah at about 11.30 pm.
Apart from severing off three fingers, Thoithoi sustained injuries on other parts of her body.
She is currently undergoing treatment at Shija Hospital, informed a source.
The couple had some arguments on money matters before the husband assaulted his own wife.
Meanwhile, local people rounded up Tolenkhomba from nearby paddy fields and handed him over to police subsequent upon which a case was registered at Thoubal police station.
